I am Unique:My Talent

There are many ways people are unique.  I like to believe everyone has something that make them unique.  Wether it be a talent or something medical.
I have a unique talent of hula-hooping for twenty minutes straight!  My parents kind of started me on this because when I was six they got me a hula-hoop.  I was very bad at first but I kept trying.
Then after a few weeks of trial and air I was able to do it for twenty minutes straight!  I was so happy and I still can do it to this day!
I am twelve now and I find new ways to hula hoop a lot.  Whether it be on my arm or neck instead of my waist. Or by simply trying to walk and hula hoop at the same time!  ( Which is something I need to practice a bit more on but it is still fun. ). I also have learned that it is fun hula hooping, and it is a very fun uniqueness to have.
I have become very uniquelly talented at hula hooping on my knees too!  I have tryed for quite awhile and I have finally acheived my goal of doing this and it makes me feel really unique.
There are many things that make us unique, so what is yours?  Mine is a simple talant but it makes me special in my own way.  Knowing I can do something that makes me unique can also brighten my day a little bit.

Background Information :

I started to like hula hooping in elementry school because we would play with them in physical education classes.  My friends and I would also time each other to see who could go the longest without the hula hoop falling off of our waists.  This is what made me start timeing because I wanted to win our little hula hooping competions at school!
Hula hooping had become quite the rage to all of the grades would brag about how many hula hoops they could do at once, but with me being the tiny little thing I could only do one opposed to the seven one of my friends could do!

Brains V.S. Beauty

There are always fights about wether it matters if you are beuatiful or smart.  What do think is more important?  I think that brains are better then having high quality make-up!
Some reasons why I think being smart is better is because brains will get you farther than looks.  Sure I may be seen as the class nerd but at least they will call me their boss when we are older.
Also what is the big deal with make-up anyway?  I mean it just makes you look like a fake doll!  In my opinion make-up just makes you look worse!  Who needs so much make-up that they look completely unrealistic?  The only thing of make-up I usally wear is lipgloss, and I look perfectly fine.
Also if you are worried about having good looks you don't focus on getting good quality learning time in.  Instead you know how to put eyeliner on instead of the dates for a Social Studies test!
In conclusion, the brains win!  Forget being beautiful when you can simply be smart!  Knowledge is beauty and don't let anyone tell you something different!

My Footprints in The Sand

I want to make this world a better place, no matter how hard it is.  I want to make it  where people look back on me for helping people cope with hard times.
When I am dead I want to be able to have people say I was wonderful.

My New Years Resoulutions

The new year brings lots of new opportunities and chances to change who you are.  It is the perfect time to set new goals or achievements to reach.  I like to make a main big goal and a smaller goal in case I am not able to get to the big goal.
This year, for my big goal I have decided to try and make the top of the ladder in tennis.  It is a very big deal in tennis and I would love to have that honor.  I have to work really hard for this though, which is why i have chosen to do this throughout the new year.
For my smaller goal this year I have choose, to stay focused on my problems and fix them without others help, in less absolutely necessary.  One thing I am bad about is throwing out the bad things and not fixing them as I should.  I need to realize that if I focus I will not fall behind others.
In conclusion my new year is full of work!  Though I love life so, why not make it even better.  These were my new years goals.  Have you made any yet?  Well you should so, you will have accomplished something this year.

The Final Reflection

This is my final reflection.  It has been a long six weeks of trials and some errors.  I would like to review this and explain what I have learned and the experiences I have made with this project.
First, I would like to say that doing this project was very fun to do.  I defiantly have improved from when I started.  I had made little mess ups in the beginning, but now I have improved on my technique.  Second, I think I did really well on this project!
In conclusion, this has been quite the learning experience.  I have got to combine school work and my creative mind to make a wonderful six weeks.  I really enjoyed this project and I hope everyone else did too.  I really think I have improved since I started.  I hope I will be able to have another opportunity to do something like this in the future!

Learning Journal #5

Summary

This week I decided to paint a sculpture of a dog.  I chose many colors this time too.  I wanted to see if wiping the brush off  with soapy water rather than normal would make a difference.  The reason I did this was because the colors sometimes would mix and make strange dark marks in bright colors.  I also made myself slow down and take my time on this one, so it would not be a repeat of the fox one!  Lastly I made sure everything was dry before I did a second coat of paint.

Reflection

This time turned out so much better than the last time.  It looked so pretty.  All the mistakes I had made were easily fixed.  I painted it just like the dog I want when I am older, a husky.  Which gave it much more appeal because I had in my mind a good picture of one.  I think my last sculpture was really awesome, considering I still am just an armature.  I think this time was a very wonderful experience!  I believe I have scored big with this one, my family has decided to put it on the craft shelf.  In conclusion this was a good painting!

Learning Journal #4

Summary

This time I painted a fox!  I chose this because of the song What Does The Fox Say.  I decided to do reds, oranges, and tans to paint it.  First I mixed a red and a tan to get kind of a maroon effect.  I painted the main fur this color.  Next I painted the feet and belly orange.  Then for details I did black, like for the eyes and fur marks. Lastly I put on what I thought was a clear shine coat.  It came in a pack of paint and it was labeled finishing coat, so I thought I would use it.

Reflection

This time did not turn out to well!  When I did black in the fur I did to many lines, so it looked like tiger fur.  Then with the coat I thought was clear turned out to be a light white, that messed everything up.  This was the worst one I have done so I just through it away!  It was really the ugliest thing I have ever seen so I will not ever use that new process again.  People have mistakes and I just had one but I am going to learn from it and move on!  I can't wait for my last opportunity, it is coming soon.  I will say one thing I better do better on this one!
